
| About THEIA |
| Texas Hunter Education Instructors Association was incorporated on April 19, 1995 as a non-profit organization by Volunteer Hunter Education Instructors to work with, support and help improve the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department Hunter Education Program. In 1996 THEIA was recognized by the IRS as a tax exempt private foundation under section 501(c) (3). As of January 19th, 2008 we were upgraded to a Public Charity Status 509 (a) (2). |
| There are four classes of members; |
| Associate Members can be any individual professing an interest in the purposes of THEIA. And shall have all the privileges of membership except the right to vote, to hold office or to participate in THEIA functions at THEIA expense. |
| Voting Members must be a Hunter Education Instructor certified by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and be a member in good standing in THEIA. |
| Corporate Members shall be any public or private agency, department, corporation or business organization supporting the purpose of THEIA. Corporate members shall have all the privileges of membership, except the right to vote, to hold office or to participate in THEIA functions at THEIA expense. |
| Junior Members shall be any individuals who are under eighteen (18) years of age. Membership terminates the year following the junior member’s eighteenth birthday. They shall have all the privileges of membership, except the right to vote, to hold office or to participate in THEIA functions at THEIA expense. Junior membership shall not disqualify the junior member for eligibility for THEIA scholarships or authorized expense reimbursement for participation at THEIA sponsored events. |
